Road Trip to Bali Gets Better: New Toll Road in East Java to Open Soon

Several sections of the Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) toll road have been completed. Of the many projects, two toll road sections have now officially obtained Operational Feasibility Certificates (SLO).

According to data from the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) as of 23 August 2026, the two sections are Gending-Kraksaan, spanning 12.88 km, and Kraksaan-Paiton, spanning 11.20 km. The completion of these sections forms part of the progress in toll road construction in the region.

“Sections 1 and 2 of the Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) toll road, totalling 24 kilometres, have been completed and are being prepared for the operational stage,” BPJT stated.

However, the operation of Sections 1 and 2 is pending the results of the Functional and Operational Feasibility Test (ULFO) for the Gending Interchange. This interchange will connect the Pasuruan-Probolinggo (Paspro) toll road with the Prosiwangi toll road.

With Prosiwangi connected to the toll road network in East Java, travel between areas is expected to become smoother, with more efficient travel times—from Probolinggo to Besuki reduced to 1 hour 15 minutes—and logistics distribution towards eastern Java can be further optimised.

“The presence of the Prosiwangi toll road will improve connectivity in the Tapal Kuda region, facilitate public mobility, and encourage logistics distribution efficiency in East Java,” BPJT added.
