Road Subsidence in South Jakarta's Lenteng Agung Causes Traffic Congestion on Route to Depok

Traffic on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung in South Jakarta was congested this morning due to a road subsidence. According to TMC Polda Metro Jaya’s X account on Friday, 29 May 2026, traffic on Lenteng Agung Road experienced congestion as a result of the road subsidence, with the blockage occurring on the north-south route from Pasar Minggu to Depok. A video uploaded by TMC Polda Metro Jaya showed a collapsed road section due to subsidence, with vehicles approaching the site moving slowly. “Current traffic conditions on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung in South Jakarta due to the road subsidence are reported as busy and congested,” stated TMC Polda Metro Jaya. South Jakarta Traffic Police have implemented traffic management measures by closing two lanes for vehicles travelling from Jakarta to Depok. “Currently only one lane is available for drivers,” they added. Authorities urged drivers to seek alternative routes, citing vehicle congestion approaching the site.
