Road Repairs Needed: Central Java Governor Instructs 2026 Revised Budget Allocation

The Governor of Central Java has emphasised that budget proposals (Pokir) from the Central Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Jateng) must prioritise road infrastructure. Damaged and potholed roads remain a priority issue that must be resolved immediately to address public complaints and ensure the safety of road users. The Governor aims for road damage to be significantly reduced by the end of 2026.

“Road infrastructure is the priority. In the Revised Budget, we will make changes. Pokir will be revitalised for road infrastructure,” Luthfi stated in a written statement on Thursday (4/6/2026). This announcement followed his attendance at a coordination meeting regarding the control of paddy field land conversion in Semarang.

Luthfi also stressed the importance of revitalising the Pokir process due to the high volume of citizen requests for road construction across various regions, including Blora Regency and other districts and cities. He noted that the prolonged rainy season in early 202<0xA0>26 had negatively impacted road quality, and comprehensive inspections can only be conducted during the dry season. “We are now entering the dry season, and we will conduct further checks to initiate repairs immediately,” he added.

Regarding road construction in Blora Regency, Ahmad Luthfi reported that progress is underway, with physical construction set to commence once the tendering process is complete. He confirmed that repairs for the Randublatung-Cepu highway in Blora Regency will be implemented as soon as possible. The project, budgeted at Rp 5.276 billion for 2026, has already entered the tender stage. In 2025, the Central Java Provincial Government allocated a total of Rp 75 billion for the repair of provincial and regency roads. Luthfi also reminded officials to maintain high-quality standards in road repairs, highlighting that maintenance must not be carried out haphazardly.
