ROAD REPAIRS: A truck dumps soil to rebuild part of a road that
collapsed following a recent landslide in Payakumbuh, West
Sumatra, which borders Riau province. The repair work on the 700-
meter stretch of road will cost billions of rupiah. The West
Sumatra police warned motorists traveling near Payakumbuh on
Thursday of the possibility of further landslides amid continuing
heavy rain.
