Road Rehabilitation in Kota Bangun-Kenohan, Kukar District Requires 100 Billion Rupiah Budget
Tenggarong, East Kalimantan - The rehabilitation of the road section running from Kota Bangun Subdistrict to Kenohan Subdistrict in Kutai Kartanegara District (Kukar), East Kalimantan, requires a budget of approximately 100 billion rupiah, with collaborative handling between the regional government and companies in the vicinity of the damaged road.
“The road has deteriorated at several points requiring accelerated repairs, so the Kukar District Government is collaborating with several companies that also regularly use this route,” said Wiyono, Head of the Public Works Service of Kukar District, in Tenggarong on Saturday.
He continued that in initial calculations, the planned budget allocation is around 10 billion rupiah to address seven priority points with a total road length requiring repair of approximately one kilometre. However, he hopes for budget support up to 100 billion rupiah so that rehabilitation can be conducted comprehensively along the full 9 kilometres, not only at specific points along the previous 1-kilometre stretch.
Nevertheless, he emphasised the importance of restricting vehicle types, particularly heavy-tonnage vehicles, and encouraged companies to actively participate in maintenance, including positioning heavy equipment for rapid response if damage occurs.
Regarding company involvement in road rehabilitation, this received agreement during a Coordination Meeting on Accelerating Repairs to the Kota Bangun Subdistrict-Kenohan Subdistrict Main Road held virtually on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Ahyani Fadianur Diani, Assistant II for Economic and Development Affairs of the Kukar District Government Secretariat. On that occasion, Ahyani conveyed that the meeting was a response to public complaints and findings from the Regent and Vice-Regent of Kukar during their Ramadan visits a few days earlier.
From the discussion, average representatives of companies stated their readiness to contribute as in previous years, but they are awaiting an official letter from the Kukar District Government to be subsequently coordinated with their respective management regarding the contribution amounts.
“The Kukar District Government is committed to accelerating the repair of the main road’s damage for public safety and comfort, whilst also promoting collaboration between government and the business sector in road infrastructure development,” said Ahyani.
