Road project corruption: Former North Sumatra PUPR head faces 5.5 years' imprisonment as prosecutors seek sentence
Prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have demanded 5.5 years’ imprisonment for former North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning Department head Topan Obaja Putra Ginting, and four years for Rasuli Efendi Siregar, former head of Gunung Tua UPTD of the PUPR, in a road project corruption case in North Sumatra in 2025. The proceedings took place on Thursday (5 March) at the Medan District Court. The acts by Topan and Rasuli are deemed to meet the elements of a criminal act under Article 12(a) of Law No. 31 of 1999, as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption, in conjunction with Article 20 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP).
