Amidst a coal industry dynamic that continues to show strong demand from both domestic and export markets, industry players are constantly striving to strengthen supply chains and expand marketing networks to sustain performance growth. Logistics efficiency and collaboration with global partners are crucial factors in enhancing competitiveness amidst the challenge of commodity price volatility. In this context, PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) has taken a strategic step by reinforcing cooperation with one of the world’s largest commodity companies.

PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE), an integrated coal logistics service provider and coal trading company, today announced the strengthening of a strategic partnership with Glencore, one of the largest global commodity companies in the world. This cooperation encompasses a coal sale and purchase agreement projected to make a significant contribution to the company’s performance growth. This synergy is a strategic move by RMKE to expand market reach and optimise its coal sales business line, alongside the logistics services which constitute the company’s core strength.

Up to the March 2026 period, the realisation of this partnership has yielded positive results. Glencore was recorded as having contributed 21.14% to RMKE’s total coal sales revenue in the first quarter of this year. This figure reflects the trust of a global partner in the service quality and commodity availability managed by RMKE.

Vincent Saputra, President Director of PT RMK Energy Tbk, stated that the partnership with Glencore will also improve RMKE’s overall performance, particularly in the coal sales segment. “In 2026, with well-integrated infrastructure and the addition of new clients in the sales segment, RMKE is targeting total coal sales of 3.8 million tonnes,” said Vincent.

RMKE’s optimism is supported by the readiness of its qualified logistics infrastructure, which allows for more efficient coal transportation and shipping processes. Looking ahead, RMKE is committed to continuously fostering strategic collaborations with various parties to solidify the company’s position as a key player in Indonesia’s energy supply chain. “With end-to-end logistics integration, RMKE can support government programmes regarding energy security with competitive logistics costs. We believe that efficient logistics costs will strongly support the government’s current energy sector policies, while simultaneously enhancing national industry competitiveness,” concluded Vincent.
