River Embankment Collapses in Bogor During Heavy Rainfall, 20 Homes Flooded
Heavy rainfall struck Pabuaran Mekar subdistrict, Cibinong district, Bogor, West Java, yesterday. As a result, a river embankment in the area collapsed.
“Heavy rainfall with high intensity caused the river to overflow because it could not accommodate the water discharge,” said Jalaluddin, emergency and logistics officer at the Bogor District Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), on Thursday (12 March 2026).
Consequently, water overflowed into residential areas. Jalaluddin stated that several residents’ homes were temporarily inundated with varying water levels.
“This impacted several homes with water levels varying from 20 centimetres to 50 centimetres,” he said.
Jalaluddin reported that there were no fatalities or injuries from the incident. A total of 20 homes were affected by the water overflow resulting from the embankment collapse.
“The affected victims, based on a preliminary rapid assessment, are 20 homes impacted. There was no structural damage to residential buildings from the flooding,” he added.
