JIMBARAN: The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa's award winning
Thai restaurant, Padi, celebrated its first anniversary with a
special wine dinner and series of private and public cooking
classes attended by resort guests, the public and a list of

invited guests on a culinary journey through the tastes of
Thailand, revealing the secrets behind the vibrant, exotic and
aromatic cuisine the restaurant has become famed for.
Chef Nu and his two accomplished Thai chefs demonstrated how
to correctly use a Thai mortar and pestle to make the embodiment
of Thai cuisine spicy chili pastes, aromatic sauces & dishes and
how to use a wok true Thai style to an array of guests.
These included renowned Indonesian architect Popo Danes,
Malaysian artist Wah, Canadian documentary filmmaker Jane
Walters, Japanese DJ Super Cozi, British hello bali editor Andrew
Charles, fashion and lingerie designer Nico Genze, Australian PR
practitioner Diana Shearin, and Property mogul, Mike Mohan from

milk) and Pad Thai Hor Kai, (traditional Thai rice noodles cooked
with tamarind, peanuts, tofu, bean sprouts and prawns wrapped in
omelet) were enjoyed over a leisurely lunch with the master chef
and included an excellent pairing of wines from South Australia's
Nepenthe Valley. --JP
