Rismon to Hold Book Review of 'Authentication of Joko Widodo's Diploma' at UGM

Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar stated that Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), responded positively to his latest book, ‘Otentikasi Ijazah Joko Widodo’ (Authentication of Joko Widodo’s Diploma). Rismon said Jokowi even encouraged the book to be distributed to various universities. He revealed plans to hold a book review at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

‘This must be placed in the academic world. Dissected, researched, and scrutinised in the academic world. Earlier, Pak Jokowi’s instruction was at UGM, meaning the primary request is to UGM,’ Rismon said after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Sumber Village, Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday (17/6).

Rismon admitted he visited Jokowi’s home to obtain a direct signature for his new book. ‘This was signed by Pak Jokowi, 17 June 2026,’ he stated.

Rismon emphasised that the book is purely the result of scientific research he conducted. He assured that the writing of the book was not affiliated with any political interests whatsoever. ‘This is solely a work that adheres to scientific principles, not subject to political affiliation, hatred, dislike, liking, or anything else,’ he said.

He also stressed that the book has no connection to the Restorative Justice (RJ) process he is undergoing in a case of alleged defamation related to Jokowi’s diploma. In that case, Rismon was involved in compiling the book ‘Jokowi’s White Paper’ together with Roy Suryo and Tiffauzia Tiyassuma. In that book, Rismon claimed Jokowi’s undergraduate diploma from UGM was fake or not authentic.

‘From the beginning, I had a moral obligation to prove that I was wrong. So I wrote a book (revising my initial opinion) so that we can be moral, so that there is scientific literacy,’ he said.
