Jakarta – Rismon Sianipar, the suspect in the case involving allegations that former Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s diploma is fraudulent, has submitted an apology after requesting restorative justice to resolve the matter.

Within two days, Rismon travelled to Solo, Central Java, and then returned to Jakarta to meet with Jokowi and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Rismon faces charges under Article 32 paragraph (1) and Article 35 of the Information Technology Law regarding actions to delete, conceal, or manipulate electronic documents.

The digital forensics researcher visited Jokowi’s residence in Solo on Thursday afternoon, 12 March 2026.

“Yes, Rismon Sianipar came here yesterday to my residence, and I received his apology,” Jokowi said in Solo, Central Java, on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Regarding the restorative justice request sought by Rismon’s side, Jokowi stated he would defer entirely to his legal advisory team. He noted that the final decision concerning case termination through the restorative justice mechanism remains the authority of the police investigators.

The following morning, Friday, 13 March 2026, Rismon visited the Vice President’s Palace to meet with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, who is also Jokowi’s son.

From observations at the location, the two held a closed meeting lasting approximately 50 minutes, from 09:57 to 10:50 WIB.

After the meeting, Gibran escorted Rismon out of the Vice President’s Office whilst having a brief conversation.

At that moment, Rismon shook Gibran’s hand whilst bowing respectfully. The atmosphere between the two appeared friendly and warm, with Gibran even embracing Rismon.

“In any case, we are family, there is nothing else between us anymore,” Gibran said whilst embracing Rismon.
