Rismon Sianipar reported to Polda Metro Jaya over alleged fraud

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar has been reported by an individual named Irwan Arya (42), who is also known as the Chairman of the Morowali DPRD for the 2014-2019 period, to Polda Metro Jaya regarding the purchase of a book. “Because I feel I have been deceived after buying this book Gibran Endgame. I planned to buy 200 to 300 books, and I have only paid for 60 books, the rest I haven’t settled,” he said when met at the SPKT Polda Metro Jaya on Friday. He was shocked and did not expect Rismon to cancel and deny that this was a book he truly authored, stating that the content of the book is lies and fake according to him. “That’s because I feel deceived after reading the content of this book, with his statement emerging at the Vice Presidential Palace at that time that he does not acknowledge and cancels the content of this book, and an even worse statement on a TV programme, that he no longer acknowledges the content of his book,” said Irwan. Irwan explained that he has also brought evidence such as the book, proof of payment for the book purchase, and there are several witness friends who know about it. He explained that the price of the book is Rp100,000 each, he planned to buy 300 books but has only paid for 60 books or around Rp6 million. “If we talk about material loss, yes it’s true. But one thing that makes this loss very ironic for me is that I bought the book and read it carefully, only for Bang Rismon Sianipar’s statement to suddenly appear that he no longer acknowledges this book with what has resulted from his research,” he said. He added that the reported articles are two, namely Article 492 of Law 1/2023 regulating criminal fraud and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code regulating criminal embezzlement.
