Rismon Sianipar Proposes Restorative Justice; Roy Suryo Says Perhaps Uncomfortable
JAKARTA — Roy Suryo, the defendant in the case of allegations regarding falsified presidential credentials, stated he was unaware that Rismon Sianipar had filed a request for restorative justice with the Jakarta Metro Police.
Roy Suryo said he would respect Rismon’s decision if he has indeed filed for restorative justice. However, he and Tifauzia Tyassuma maintain that the presidential credentials in question are fraudulent.
“Our response, which I discussed directly with Dr Tifa yesterday, is that we will not back down even 0.1%. Why 0.1%? That is what remains from 99.9%,” Roy Suryo said at the Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Thursday (12/3/2026).
“So I am simply saying, if a colleague then perhaps feels uncomfortable, they are welcome to do so. Perhaps they want to repeat their research,” he added.
Meanwhile, Roy Suryo’s legal counsel, Refly Harun, stated he had contacted Rismon regarding restorative justice but had not yet received a response.
“My WhatsApp message to Rismon is still showing single tick as of today. I am showing my colleagues that my communication from this morning at 07.29 WIB,” said Refly.
However, he respected whatever decision Rismon makes. He simply wanted to confirm first, as he had not met with Rismon since 26 February 2026.
“We cannot determine whether there is pressure or not, whether this is a free choice or not. Therefore, there will be a follow-up position after we meet with Rismon,” said Refly.
Previously, it was reported that Rismon Sianipar had filed a request for restorative justice with the Jakarta Metro Police.
Kombes Pol Iman Imanudin, Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Metro Police, said his office was currently following up on the request.
“So several days ago, RHS, together with his lawyer, submitted a request for restorative justice facilitation to the investigator. And we are making efforts to facilitate the request submitted by the suspect RHS,” said Iman when contacted separately.
The Jakarta Metro Police has named eight individuals as suspects in the case of allegations regarding falsified presidential credentials following a lengthy investigation.
“The Jakarta Metro Police has named 8 suspects in a case of defamation, libel, hate speech, and electronic data manipulation, as reported by Ir. H. Joko Widodo,” said Jakarta Metro Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri during a press conference at police headquarters on Friday (7/11/2025).
