Rismon Sianipar Meets Vice President Gibran Amid Fake Diploma Case Against Former President Jokowi

A researcher facing allegations of questioning former President Joko Widodo’s academic credentials met with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Friday, 13 March 2026, at the Vice President’s residence on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar arrived at approximately 09:55 WIB and stated that the meeting was merely a social courtesy visit, declining to elaborate on the purpose of his visit.

Vice President Gibran, in a written statement issued Thursday evening, responded positively to Sianipar’s apology to former President Jokowi regarding his research. Gibran stated that Ramadhan was an appropriate period for mutual forgiveness and reconciliation. He also commended Sianipar’s clarification and willingness to review his previous public statements, characterising such maturity as a sign of democratic conduct.

Sianipar had previously visited former President Jokowi’s residence in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday to formally apologise for his research contained in the book “Jokowi’s White Paper.” He explained that over the past two months, he had continued his independent research, reviewing all methodologies across approximately 480 of the book’s 700 pages.

In his research, Sianipar claimed to have made several new findings that he could academically and scientifically substantiate. Notably, these included examination of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma, specifically analysing embossing and watermarks on the certificate and noting the absence of security holograms.
