Rismon Sianipar Files for Restorative Justice in Jokowi Diploma Case
Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, one of the suspects in the case alleging that the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), holds a forged diploma, has filed for restorative justice (RJ) in the matter. The RJ application letter was submitted last week.
“So a few days ago or about a week ago, the individual in question, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, together with his legal counsel, submitted a request for restorative justice facilitation to the investigators,” said Kombes Iman Imannudin, Head of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, to reporters on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
Iman stated that Rismon visited Metro Jaya Police headquarters today to inquire about the progress of the matter. Metro Jaya Police investigators are currently processing the RJ application submitted by Rismon.
“Today, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar with his lawyer came to us to inquire about the progress of the RJ request that was submitted by the suspect of his own volition,” said Iman.
“We, as the facilitator, the investigators have already taken steps and are continuing to take steps to facilitate the request submitted by suspect Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar,” he stated.
For context, Metro Jaya Police had previously issued a letter ordering the cessation of investigation (SP3) against two suspects in the case alleging a false diploma held by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi): Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis. Prior to issuing the SP3, Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis met with Jokowi in Solo.
In total, eight individuals have been named as suspects in this case, including Roy Suryo. Police continue to investigate the matter and are conducting a special case conference.
On 8 January 2026, Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis visited Jokowi’s residence in Solo. After their meeting, Jokowi expressed his hope that their cases would be resolved through restorative justice (RJ).
Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis subsequently filed an RJ request with the police. The police then processed the request, ultimately deciding to halt their cases.
As a result, the case now involves only six remaining suspects. The first cluster consists of three suspects: Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.
The second cluster comprises three suspects: Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, and Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa.
