Rismon Sianipar Can Now Smile and Sleep Soundly, Turns Out This Is the Trigger
A relieved smile now graces the face of digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar. His legal representative even joked that Rismon can now sleep soundly after the case ensnaring him has reportedly reached its conclusion.
This follows claims that the Jakarta Metropolitan Police have issued a Termination of Investigation Order (SP3) against Rismon. However, an official announcement is still awaited from the police.
Rismon’s lawyer, Jahmada Girsang, stated that the case has essentially been resolved. Amid the process, Jahmada quipped in a way that depicted his client’s current state.
“If you look at it, the picture is actually simple. Just look at Rismon’s face now—is it fresh or even more haggard? Rismon Sianipar sleeps soundly,” said Jahmada, quoted on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
In agreement, another member of the legal team, Andi Azwan, assessed that the restorative justice (RJ) process pursued over approximately 1.5 months ran smoothly and yielded positive results. Andi also responded to previous statements from other parties doubting the possibility of an SP3 being issued. He viewed the latest developments as showing the opposite.
“If you look at our faces here, we’re all smiling, which illustrates what the outcome is like,” he said.
Previously reported, the legal matter involving the digital forensics expert, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, has reached a bright point. The legal team stated that the investigation termination process or SP3 has now entered its final stage.
This was revealed directly by Rismon’s lawyer, Jahmada Girsang, after visiting the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters. He emphasised that the process undertaken today is the final stage of terminating the case.
“So, colleagues, today is the finalisation of the SP3. Once again, I say, finalisation of the SP3. Meaning it’s already final,” stated Jahmada on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
Nevertheless, his side is holding back from disclosing details regarding the SP3. Jahmada mentioned that the police will first provide an official statement before his team offers a comprehensive explanation.
Meanwhile, efforts at reconciliation in the controversy over allegations concerning the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, alias Jokowi, continue to progress. Although the suspect, digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, has reached an amicable settlement with Jokowi’s camp, the legal process has not fully halted.
