Rismon Meets Jokowi Following Submission of Restorative Justice Request in Fake Diploma Case
Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, the suspect in a defamation case related to allegations regarding President Joko Widodo’s diploma, met with Indonesia’s seventh president at his residence in Sumber, Solo, Central Java on Thursday, 12 March.
Rismon arrived at Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber neighbourhood, Banjarsari district, Solo, Central Java at approximately 17:11 Western Indonesian Time. The digital forensics expert was driving a black SUV with license plate L 1281 CBH. Rismon parked his vehicle in the front yard of Jokowi’s residence.
Without delay, Rismon entered Jokowi’s residence alone. At the time of reporting, the meeting between Rismon and Jokowi was ongoing. The meeting occurred following Rismon’s submission of a restorative justice petition to investigators from Metro Jaya Police some time earlier.
Previously, Rismon, along with Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa, was known as a figure who was highly critical and continuously questioned the authenticity of Jokowi’s bachelor’s degree from Gadjah Mada University.
However, after a lengthy legal process, Rismon submitted a restorative justice request last week in the case alleging Jokowi’s diploma was fraudulent.
“Several days ago, or about a week ago, the individual in question, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, along with his lawyer, submitted a request for restorative justice facilitation to the investigator,” said Kombes Iman Imanuddin, Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, to journalists on Wednesday, 11 March.
Imanuddin disclosed that on that day, Rismon along with his legal representative also returned to Metro Jaya Police to inquire about follow-up actions regarding the restorative justice petition.
“And today, Rismon with his lawyer came to us to enquire about developments in the restorative justice petition submitted by him of his own volition,” he said.
