Rismon invites Roy Suryo and team to demonstrate authenticity of Jokowi's diploma through open education
Jakarta — Digital forensics researcher and expert Rismon Sianipar has invited fellow practitioners Roy Suryo and his team to conduct an open educational demonstration to prove the authenticity of the diplomas of Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Rismon has invited Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Doctor Tifa), who are also implicated in the suspected forgery case regarding Jokowi’s diploma, to demonstrate reconstructions and further analysis of various elements visible on the diploma, including watermarks, emboss marks, and stamps.
“I invite Mr Roy Suryo and others — let us do this openly. I will demonstrate the method of how lighting at certain angles can eliminate certain colours, for example the stamp we analysed previously appeared absent,” Rismon said during a press statement at the Vice President’s Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
After meeting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice President’s Palace, Rismon explained that he is prepared to demonstrate the methods, both publicly and privately, that were not previously employed in research through his two books titled “Jokowi’s White Paper” and “Gibran End Game”.
Based on further analysis over the past three months, Rismon has discovered evidence of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma, namely watermarks and emboss marks, and other features in the document that demonstrate consistency when compared with photographs of the diploma uploaded by Dian Sandi Utama.
He acknowledged that the discovery of previously invisible stamp traces was obtained by incorporating variables of lighting geometry, light intensity and conclusions from lens type in reconstruction in the latest research.
“I present three main findings: emboss exists in the bottom left corner, watermark is present, and the features are consistent with what was uploaded by Dian Sandi Utama. Don’t say it’s not there — it saddens me,” Rismon said.
Rismon also informed Gibran that he would write an antithesis book to “Jokowi’s White Paper” and “Gibran End Game” to refute the previous allegations.
“I have found the truth through reconstruction, through testing that I have conducted over these three months and will document in a book. Not through mere talk — I will write it. Hopefully by 2026 the book will be complete. I told Mr Vice President just now that my atonement for all this commotion, whether caused by me or others, will be offered to Mr Vice President’s family and especially to Mr Joko Widodo,” he said.
Rismon also offered his apologies to Jokowi and the public regarding his latest findings about Jokowi’s diploma. The apology served as an acknowledgment of responsibility following his research that revealed changes to Jokowi’s diploma.
In response to the apology, Vice President Gibran stated in a written statement that Ramadan is a good time for mutual forgiveness and rebuilding bonds of brotherhood.
“Ramadan is a very good month for mutual forgiveness and rebuilding bonds of brotherhood,” Gibran said.
