JAKARTA — Rismon Sianipar, a suspect in the case concerning allegations that President Joko Widodo’s diploma is fraudulent, has issued a message to his co-suspects in the same case.

Rismon urged the other suspects, including Roy Suryo, not to conceal the truth from the public.

“Don’t hide it, come on. Even if at first you will be considered traitors, it will be lighter punishment than if you hide it,” Rismon said firmly when met at the Vice President’s Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Rismon also refuted the claims made by Roy Suryo and others that Jokowi’s diploma lacks watermarks or embossing.

“It is always said there is no embossing, no watermarks. I have conducted cross-checks using dozens of methods and there are watermarks and embossing,” he said.

In fact, Rismon challenged Roy Suryo to discuss this matter openly in front of the public.

With conviction, Rismon stood firm in taking responsibility for his new findings regarding Jokowi’s authentic diploma.

He also ensured that these new findings were conducted using scientific methods.

“Or I will invite Mr Roy Suryo or others — come on, let us openly invite journalists, and I will demonstrate my method of how lighting at a certain angle can eliminate certain colours that are chromatically or have integer values close to other colours,” he said firmly.

He will write a book as a form of atonement to the Jokowi family, whilst also refuting the allegations.

“The basis remains methodology, more complete data, and objectivity. Of course I cannot tell this story with empty narratives — I will prove it through my writing and this is ongoing, it takes time,” he said.

For information, Rismon is one of eight suspects in the case regarding allegations of a false diploma for Jokowi.

Rismon has also been charged under Article 32(1) and Article 35 of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law concerning the deletion or concealment as well as manipulation of electronic documents.
