Rismon Apologises to Jokowi, Presents Ulos and Arsik

Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar presented ulos cloth and processed fish to the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The presentation was made by Rismon when meeting Jokowi regarding the fake diploma case at the Sumber residence in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday (12 March).

“We brought arsik and ulos,” said Rismon after meeting Jokowi.

Ulos is a traditional woven cloth from the Batak ethnic group, Rismon’s homeland. Arsik is a traditional Batak Toba dish consisting of fish cooked dry with distinctive Batak spices.

Rismon stated that the ulos and arsik were presented as a form of apology and Batak customary respect towards Jokowi.

“In other words, as a gesture of respect, meaning we consider Pak Jokowi an honourable person, for the sake of peace,” he said.

Rismon met Jokowi at the Sumber residence after submitting a request for restorative justice (RJ) to Metro Jaya Police. On that occasion, Rismon also apologised to the public and Jokowi regarding the fake diploma case.

“Of course I apologise to the public, especially to those involved such as Bapak Joko Widodo,” said Rismon.

Previously, Rismon claimed to have conducted further research. The results of the further research concluded there were no irregularities in Jokowi’s credentials.

“There is no digital manipulation as I concluded in my Jokowi’s White Paper book. What does this mean? The authenticity has been maintained,” said Rismon.
