Rismon Admits Jokowi's Diploma is Genuine, PSI: Truth Finds Its Way
The Central Leadership Council of the Solidarity Indonesia Party (DPP PSI) has welcomed the latest admission from Rismon Sianipar, who stated that his accusations regarding the forged diploma of former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) were a complete mistake. PSI views this admission as evidence that truth will ultimately be revealed to the public.
Raja Juli Antoni, Secretary General of the DPP PSI, expressed appreciation for Rismon’s courage in correcting information that has caused considerable upheaval. According to him, the latest findings confirming the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma mark the end of the prolonged dispute that has been ongoing.
“We welcome Rismon Sianipar’s admission that his allegation that Mr Jokowi’s diploma was forged is a total error. Truth will find its way,” Raja Juli Antoni stated in a written statement on Friday, 13 March.
Rismon Sianipar, previously named as a suspect in the case, issued an apology to the seventh President of Indonesia and his family. The admission came after he conducted a re-examination of the material he previously wrote in the book “Jokowi’s White Paper”.
Rismon acknowledged errors in his previous research methodology. Based on the latest review he conducted, he confirmed that Joko Widodo’s diploma is an authentic document.
Raja Juli added that this incident is hoped to restore Jokowi’s reputation. “God does not sleep. May Mr Jokowi be increasingly honoured by this event,” he said.
Raja Juli also responded to reports that Rismon Sianipar had filed a formal request for restorative justice with police authorities. Raja Juli entirely entrusted the legal process to the competent authorities.
“Go ahead and submit it. That is a citizen’s right. We will leave it entirely to law enforcement authorities to address,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Metro Jaya Police, Brigadier General Iman Imanuddin, confirmed that Rismon’s written request for restorative justice was received last week. Police are currently reviewing the request in accordance with applicable legal procedures to determine the next steps in handling the case.
Rismon has published a video of his apology through his YouTube channel, Balige Academy. Lawyer Jahmada Girsang, who accompanied Rismon Sianipar, stated that the meeting between his client and the seventh President of Indonesia took place in a spirit of friendship.
