RISKY JOURNEY: Passengers from an intercity bus plying the
Padang-Pekanbaru route in Sumatra walk along a road hit by a
landslide at Tanjung Alai village in the subdistrict of Tiga
Belas Koto, Kampar regency, Riau province, to change buses in
order to travel to Padang, West Sumatra. The landslide severed
the highway on Monday and the local authorities began to clear it
on Tuesday.
