Risk Mitigation: Regional Inspector III Oversees Hajj Preparations in Padang
The Regional Inspector III of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Mulyadi Nurdin, conducted an inspection of the Hajj pilgrimage preparations in Padang, West Sumatra, on Friday (11/9).
In a meeting with the Head of the Padang Hajj Dormitory, Mulyadi Nurdin explained that the Inspectorate General is conducting oversight of the Hajj preparation process from an early stage, including the utilisation of dormitory assets and risk mitigation.
He stated that all parties must implement risk mitigation, undertake preparations earlier, maximise the use of Hajj dormitory assets for the benefit of pilgrims, and continuously improve services to the public.
Mulyadi Nurdin explained that, in accordance with the mandate of the law, all assets related to the Hajj pilgrimage previously managed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs are being transferred to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Therefore, all transition processes must be carried out properly, orderly, and smoothly.
All such assets must complete the transition process by completing all necessary documentation to facilitate their use for Hajj pilgrims and the community in West Sumatra.
“The Hajj dormitory must be maximised for the service of Hajj pilgrims, Umrah pilgrims, and community needs, in an orderly manner according to the regulations for the use of State-Owned Assets,” said the alumnus of Lemhannas RI.
Mulyadi Nurdin reminded all personnel to ensure the success of the ‘Tri-Success of Hajj’, which consists of success in rituals, success in the economic ecosystem, and success in civilisation and decency.
“The Hajj dormitory plays a vital role in achieving the Tri-Success of Hajj; all pilgrims will enter the dormitory during embarkation and debarkation, Umrah pilgrims are also expected to experience the services of the dormitory, and the general public can utilise it for social and community activities,” said the alumnus of Al-Azhar University, Egypt.
Mulyadi Nurdin also reiterated the directive from President Prabowo Subianto, who desires that Hajj services must continue to be improved with affordable costs without reducing service quality.
Similarly, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Gus Irfan Yusuf, emphasised the need for continuous improvement and the provision of increasingly better services.
“Despite much appreciation for the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in 2026, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah reminded us to keep moving forward and not to become complacent with praise,” said Mulyadi Nurdin.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, emphasised the importance of integrity in serving Hajj pilgrims.
“The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah always emphasises that all parties must prioritise integrity in service, sincerity, and zero tolerance for any malpractice,” noted Mulyable Nurdin.
Mulyadi Nurdin also reminded that preparations for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage must be carried out more rapidly, and all stages must be executed well, particularly the health fitness (istitaah) for prospective pilgrims.
He noted that the Inspectorate General will oversee all these processes from start to finish.
“To realise accountable governance, the Inspectorate General will oversee the performance and finances of the ministry through audits, reviews, evaluations, monitoring, and other forms of oversight,” he concluded.
