Strengthening governance and risk management has become one of the banking industry’s key priorities amid ongoing economic dynamics and shifts in the business landscape.

For regional development banks, integrated risk management and strengthening internal controls are viewed as crucial to maintaining performance stability while supporting sustainable growth.

Ateng Rivai, Compliance Director of Bank Jakarta, said that healthy growth in the banking sector must be supported by strong governance and disciplined risk management.

‘Healthy growth must be underpinned by strong governance, disciplined and accountable risk management. Strengthening a risk-aware culture across all levels of the organisation is essential to ensure every strategic move remains within the prudential corridors and applicable regulations,’ he said in a press release on Wednesday 4 March 2026.

He explained that risk management is not only implemented at policy level, but also through reinforcement of organisational culture so that every work unit shares the same awareness in managing potential risks.

In practice, such reinforcement covers various aspects, ranging from risk identification to monitoring and evaluation mechanisms conducted on an ongoing basis.

In this context, Bank Jakarta received two awards at different events held at the same time: the Indonesia Enterprise Risk Management Award 2026 and the Indonesia Best CFO Awards 2026.

At the Indonesia Enterprise Risk Management Award, organised by Economic Review, Bank Jakarta earned The Best Indonesia Enterprises Risk Management Gold Award (B) Excellent (4 Star) in the Regional Development Company category with assets exceeding Rp 90 trillion.

Meanwhile, at the Indonesia Best CFO Awards 2026, Bank Jakarta’s Chief Financial and Strategy Officer Basaria Martha Juliana received the award in recognition of leadership in safeguarding the company’s financial performance.

The assessment also involved independent research and in-depth material review by a panel of judges comprising academics and industry practitioners.
