Consumer awareness of the importance of comprehensive skin health has steadily increased in recent years. Consumers are no longer focusing solely on brightening or smoothing the skin, but are beginning to understand the importance of skin barrier as the foundation of skin health.

As this trend develops, demand for skincare products using natural, safe ingredients that are environmentally friendly has also grown. Consumers are increasingly selective in choosing products that are not only effective but also support environmental sustainability.

In response to this market development, French skincare brand Phytomer has been officially introduced to Indonesia by PT Regenesis Indonesia. The product’s arrival marks the entry of marine biotechnology-based skincare into the professional market, including beauty clinics, medispas, and wellness centres.

President Director of PT Regenesis Indonesia, Emmy Noviawati, stated that rising consumer awareness regarding skin health is driving demand for natural products that are both safe and sustainable.

“Observing current market needs, we are preparing authentic products that can address the needs of those who desire natural products that are not only beneficial for skin health but also friendlier to the earth,” said Emmy.

Phytomer is known as a pioneer in developing marine biotechnology-based skincare. The brand, founded in Saint-Malo, France in 1972, harnesses the richness of marine resources as the primary ingredient in its skincare product formulations.

One distinctive active ingredient used is Oligomer, a concentrate of mineral-rich seawater combined with marine algae extract. This ingredient is designed to provide nutrients, enhance hydration, and support the skin’s remineralisation process so it works in harmony with the skin’s natural needs.

Marketing Manager of PT Regenesis Indonesia, Amanda Rahim, explained that the marine biotechnology approach is Phytomer’s key differentiator compared to many other skincare products that typically use synthetic ingredients or land plant extracts.

“Phytomer is not merely a skincare product, but represents technology derived from organic marine ingredients that is developed with precision and responsibility,” said Amanda.

All Phytomer active ingredients and products are developed and manufactured in the company’s laboratory in Brittany, France, with stringent quality control standards and regular clinical testing to ensure safety and efficacy. The formula also uses approximately 95 per cent vegan-friendly ingredients sourced from natural marine sources.

Beyond highlighting skincare benefits such as hydration, anti-ageing, and skin texture improvement, Phytomer products are designed to deliver a premium spa experience. Comfortable product texture, soothing aroma, and relaxing treatment sensation are part of the treatment experience that often attracts customers at professional spas.

Through its launch in Indonesia, PT Regenesis Indonesia hopes that Phytomer’s presence can add value to beauty clinics, medispas, and wellness centres in the country. The product not only offers effective skincare, but also delivers an authentic, premium spa experience for customers.

With the growing trend of clean beauty, sustainability, and experiential treatment in the beauty industry, the company is optimistic that this marine biotechnology-based skincare can become one of the preferred options in the professional spa and aesthetic clinic segment in Indonesia.
