RI's spikers suffer 1st loss
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia crashed to a straight-set defeat to Thailand in the second day of the Asia-Pacific Volleyball Cup men's volleyball tournament in Kurume, Japan yesterday.
The 15-4, 15-5, 15-9 drubbing came just one day after Indonesia opened its campaign with a 12-15, 15-1, 15-3, 15-5 win over Vietnam on Wednesday.
In other action on the day, defending champion Japan had little trouble defeating Malaysia 15-1, 15-7, 15-2. Japan and Thailand, last year's runner-up, remained unbeaten after yesterday's matches.
Six teams will battle it out in the round-robin championships. (arf)
