Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s oil output this year is expected to increase by 80,000 barrels per day after eight new oil fields have come on stream, an oil industry official said.

"With the increase in output, we are optimistic the national oil production target of 1.050 million bpd for 2007 will be achieved," Kardaya Warnika, head of the Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Body (BP Migas), said at a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission VII (energy, mineral resources, research, technology and the environment) here on Monday.

The four existing fields were Duri field in Riau with 25,000 bpd, Pondok Tengah field in Bekasi with 17,000 bpd, offshore fields with 15,000 bpd, and Bene Bekasap field in Riau with 5,000 bpd.
