RI's coconut exports up

SINGAPORE (Reuter): Indonesia's coconut exports and earnings from January to November 1996 rose sharply after a weak performance in 1995, an official said.

Sudjatmiko, the executive secretary of the Indonesian Animal Feed Producers and Exporters Association, said in a presentation to a feed ingredients conference in Singapore that Jakarta's Central Bureau of Statistics reported that coconut exports from January to November last year reached 347,308 tons.

Coconut exports for the whole of 1995 reached 287,319 tons, he said.

Coconut export earnings in that period reached US$39.12 million against $27.71 million in 1995.
