Rio Tinto signs iron ore deals
SYDNEY: Anglo-Australian resources giant Rio Tinto on Thursday
announced it had struck several more long-term iron ore deals
with Chinese steel mills to meet the country's continued strong
demand for the raw material.
The contracts will see Rio Tinto's Hamersley Iron mine supply
more than 30 million tons of iron ore per year while the Robe
River mine will supply 10 million tons a year.
The contracts are for an average of 10 years. Financial
details were not disclosed and the Chinese steel mills were not
