Rio Tinto boss leads IABC
JAKARTA (JP): The annual general meeting of the Indonesia- Australia Business Council (IABC) elected Noke Kiroyan on Tuesday as its new president until 2002.
Noke Kiroyan, who is the president of Rio Tinto Indonesia, a subsidiary of Anglo-Australian mining firm Rio Tinto, replaces Sabam Siagian, who served as the council's president from 1996 to 2000, IABC said in a statement.
Sabam, who was elected president following his term as Indonesian ambassador to Australia, has turned IABC into a sizable business organization with a total of 394 members, IABC said.
The annual general meeting also elected a new executive board, comprising Elly Hutabarat (Coca-Cola Amatil), Graeme Robertson (Swabara Group), Steve Sondakh (Hero Group), Darryl Hadaway (Prasetio Utomo), Rosalina Syahriar (Sagric International) Peter Fanning (Halim, Hutabarat & Rekan), Martin Kyle (Bristol-Myers Squibb), Widjaja Sugarda (former Indonesian consul general to Sydney) and Wilfred Schultz (Grant Thornton).
