Rio Claims Five Cadres from Major Parties Set to Join Hanura
The Vice Chairman of the Hanura Party, Patrice Rio Capella, convened all Chairpersons of the Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) across West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in Mataram on Tuesday (1/9/2026). During the meeting, Rio Capella urged all party officials to restore the glory of the lion-symbol party for the 2029 elections. He also claimed that five cadres from major parties are prepared to join Hanura.
During the consolidation, Rio received reports that the Hanura NTB management structure has been 100 per cent formed, even at the sub-district level. “I have received reports that the sub-district officials in NTB are at 100 per cent. We are now in the ongoing process of preparing management at the village level and 1,000 members based on the number of officials in branches, villages, and sub-districts,” said Rio Capella on Tuesday night.
The former Chairman of the NasDem Party believes that all Hanura cadres in NTB are working on track to restore the party’s former glory. He also called for all Hanura cadres to rise again in the 2029 elections.
Rio Capella provided specific notes regarding the target of increasing seats in each regency/city in NTB. Out of the 10 regencies in NTB, there are three regencies that currently have no representatives in the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).
“We want the leaders in those three regencies that currently have no seats to be people who have the potential to lead Hanura,” he explained.
Rio Caplagella believes this early preparation will strengthen Hanura’s position in the upcoming contest in NTB. This initial preparation could increase the number of Hanura seats in each regency/city and province.
“This means we are not just preparing for verification, but we are already preparing the political machinery. All party billboards will be installed, and after this, we will sign the Regional Working Meetings (Rakerda) and Sub-district Working Meetings (Rakercam) to prepare legislative candidates and so on. This means the political machinery in NTB is already working,” he explained.
Regarding the strategy for attracting new cadres, Rio emphasised that Hanura will not use a persuasion-based pattern, but rather through internal improvements and the comprehensive completion of the party structure.
“Like a share, when performance is good and the company is healthy, people will buy the shares. We do not convince people through persuasion, but by working earlier and perfecting the structure. In this way, the party’s share value rises and people are interested in joining,” explained Rio.
This approach is claimed to be yielding results. Rio revealed that five cadres from major parties have begun approaching Hanura. According to him, these five cadres are currently in a ‘wait and see’ phase, observing Hanura’s active movement in the media and its clear track record of work.
“They see the seriousness and that Hanura is being managed correctly. If they feel uncomfortable in their old parties or cannot get a good number, we promise that if they are candidates here, we will give them number 1,” said Rio.
To synchronise the rhythm of struggle, he has scheduled intensive consolidation across dozens of regions in Indonesia. He targets 28 provinces to be visited with the same pattern to heat up the political machinery until 2029.
“The language of victory and the readiness of the political machinery from Aceh to Papua must be the same. Therefore, the future of the party is in the hands of the DPC, PAC, to branch officials. We are spreading this virus of optimism to cadres and the community outside of Hanura,” he added.
He noted that the consideration for these five cadres from major parties to move to Hanura is due to seeing Hanura’s survey results continuously rising.
“Therefore, they will likely calculate whether to join Hanura. If Hanura’s way of working remains on track like this, they believe that Hanura will continue to rise,” he said.
“Those five cadres are from major parties. They might feel uncomfortable in their current parties, or feel they will not get a good place or number. We promise that if you are a candidate here, we will give you number 1,” Rio added.
Rio is also optimistic that Hanura is ready for the 2029 General Election. He emphasised that the main strength comes from the internal cadres themselves.
“Therefore, we must not depend on the hopes of others. The future of this party is in the hands of its cadres. The future of the party is in the hands of the DPC, DPRT, PAC, and DPD officials. We believe that if our work is as compact as this, we believe that optimism is beginning to build,” he asserted.
In the same location, the Chairman of Hanura DPD NTB, Ahmad Dahlan, also known as Leo, emphasised the readiness of his regional ranks to reclaim lost seats in several areas of the ‘Bumi Gora’ region.
Leo stated that out of 10 regencies/cities, three regencies/cities did not obtain seats, namely North Lombok Regency, West Sumbawa, and Sumbawa.
“Now in North Lombok, I am appointing a competent person, who is a coordinator of a farmers’ group. In West Sumbawa, where work was not so agile in the past, I am now appointing an entrepreneur who currently controls all the products not used in PT AMMAN,” he added.
Leo stated that the selection of leadership figures in Sumbawa Regency also applies a popularity system. Hanura, Leo noted, once held leadership seats in Sumbawa. That glory will be returned in 2029.
“We once held the leadership of the DPRD in Sumbawa, but now it is ‘zonk’ (empty). Therefore, I am appointing competent people with wide networks in Sumbawa Regency,” he explained.
Leo believes that the new Hanura NTB management structure is ready to work seriously. Cooperation between officials is improving for the 2029 DPRD elections.
“God willing, the three regencies that previously had no seats will obtain seats and restore Hanura’s glory,” concluded Leo.
