JAKARTA — A new culinary narrative has emerged in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Rin Culinary Art, which welcomed the public on 26 May 2026, is more than just a typical fine dining restaurant. It is a culinary art studio where Japanese precision, Italian craftsmanship, and Indonesia’s rich local ingredients merge into an intimate dining experience. Stepping into Rin greets visitors with an atmosphere reflecting its name’s meaning. In Japanese philosophy, “Rin” (凛) symbolises elegance, dignity, and refined tranquillity. The interior’s dim, dramatic lighting creates a stage for the artisans behind the scenes. Here, the boundary between kitchen and dining table blurs, inviting guests into an immersive creative process. At the heart of this ambitious concept are two key figures: Founder and Head Chef Yohhei Sasaki and General Manager Ken Kuwako. Chef Sasaki is no stranger to the international culinary scene. His experience spans Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy, such as Arnolfo and Da Vittorio, and Michelin-selected establishments in Singapore. Through Rin, he introduces “Itameshi”—a harmony of Italian techniques and Japanese precision infused with the “soul” of Indonesian ingredients. “Indonesia has incredible culinary potential. The local ingredients here possess strong character, depth of flavour, and fascinating stories,” said Chef Sasaki during his visit to Rin Culinary Art on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
