The Indonesian National Police have arrested an Indonesian citizen, Rifaldo Aquino Pontoh, an Interpol fugitive wanted in connection with international human trafficking (TPPO) and online fraud in Cambodia.

Head of the International Fugitive Section at the NCB Interpol Secretariat, International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner Ricky Purnama, said the arrest was carried out by a joint team comprising personnel from the NCB Interpol Indonesia Secretariat, the General Crimes Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, and the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police, together with immigration officials at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

“The Interpol Red Notice subject, an Indonesian national by the name of Rifaldo Aquino Pontoh, was arrested on Saturday (21/2) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali,” Ricky said in a statement on Saturday (21/2/2026).

Commissioner Ricky revealed that Rifaldo Aquino was a perpetrator within an international human trafficking and online fraud network operating in Cambodia. He exploited social media by advertising job vacancies promising high salaries.

“However, in reality, victims suffered severe violence, including passport confiscation, unpaid wages, and coercive conditions that required victims to pay extremely high fees to resign or return to Indonesia,” he explained.

Rifaldo’s arrest was also the result of cooperation between the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police and Interpol. Previously, on Friday (20/2), NCB Interpol Indonesia received intelligence from NCB Manila indicating that Rifaldo had been tracked moving from Cambodia to the Philippines.

From the Philippines, Rifaldo then continued his journey to Bali. The intelligence was acted upon swiftly, with the team moving quickly to Bali to arrest the suspect.

“The individual is currently undergoing intensive examination,” he concluded.
