Rieke Diah Demands Inventory of Luxury Prison Cell Contents Before Demolition
Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has requested that the contents of the luxury residence found within the Cibinong Class IIA Prison, Bogor, be recorded for the purpose of subsequent investigations.
This was stated by Commission XIII member Rieke Diah Pitaloka during a parliamentary working visit to the Cibinong Class IIA Prison, Bogor, on Wednesday (30/9).
“We must ensure that all items being removed are properly recorded and inventoried, as this is currently under investigation,” Rieke told reporters on Wednesday.
She noted that since the discovery of the luxury residence at Cibinong Prison is still under investigation, every single item must be documented without exception.
“All items under investigation must not be dismantled arbitrarily; even the smallest items must be recorded and inventoried,” she added.
Rieke stated that she has received assurances that the items within the luxury residence have been recorded and are part of the ongoing investigation.
“However, we have received guarantees that these items have been inventoried as evidence under investigation,” said Rieke.
Prior to the demolition, Rieke insisted on conducting a formal recording of the items inside the luxury house. The PDI Perjuangan politician demanded that the demolition must not result in the loss of evidence regarding the facilities contained within.
“If you wish to proceed with the demolition, please do so, but on the condition that all physical evidence, assets, sofas, televisions, large screens, and refrigerators are photographed, recorded, and sealed first,” Rieke said.
“Premature demolition without proper recording could be categorised as the destruction of evidence,” she concluded.
