Ridwan Kamil Files Petition to Adopt Arkana as a Single Parent

Former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil attended a child adoption petition hearing at the Bandung Religious Court on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. He is seeking to have Arkana Aidan Misbach legally recognised as his adopted child as a single parent, following his divorce from Atalia Praratya. The petition was registered with the court on 26 June 2026, and the hearing proceeded with an examination of the application. Following the session, Ridwan Kamil expressed gratitude for the smooth legal process and expressed hope that the panel of judges would grant his petition, thereby formalising Arkana Aidan Misbach as his adopted child through a court ruling. His legal counsel, Wenda Aluwi, explained that Ridwan Kamil and his former wife had initially planned to adopt Arkana together. However, the administrative process had not been completed when the couple decided to divorce. Based on a post-divorce agreement, custody of Arkana was entrusted to Ridwan Kamil. Consequently, the current legal process involves adoption by a single parent, and all administrative and legal requirements have been fulfilled. The Bandung Religious Court is scheduled to issue its ruling on the petition within approximately one week. If granted, Ridwan Kamil will become the legal adoptive parent of Arkana Aidan Misbach.
