Ridwan Kamil Attends Bandung Religious Court for Child Adoption Hearing
Former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil visited the Bandung Religious Court office on Jalan Antapani to attend a hearing for the child adoption rights of Arkana Aidan Misbach on Wednesday (8/7/2026). He is optimistic that custody of Arkana will soon be in his hands. Ridwan Kamil, who was present at the hearing, stated that Arkana will officially become his child next week. “The granting of my prayers, Arkana. God willing, he will officially become my child. The gavel will fall in a week,” he said on Wednesday (8/7/2026).
Ridwan Kamil’s lawyer, Wenda Aluwi, revealed that Arkana Aidan Misbach had been fostered by Ridwan Kamil and Atalia Praratya when they were still husband and wife. She mentioned that the couple had already planned to adopt Arkana. However, according to statutory provisions, there are several procedures and stages that must be passed before adoption, such as fostering for a certain period. Supervision is also carried out by the social services department.
“As we know, Ananda Arka was previously raised together, fostered together with Mrs. Atalia. The goal at that time was indeed to adopt, to legally raise the child,” she said. She noted that the administrative process had not been completed before her client and Atalia Praratya decided to separate. Following that event, Ridwan Kamil filed for the right to adopt Arkana. “After the divorce, it was agreed that the care of Ananda Arka would be handed over to Mr. Ridwan Kamil. So now the child adoption process must be pursued by Mr. Ridwan Kamil,” she said.
