Riding the Maung to Monas, Prabowo Attends Labour Day Commemoration

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended the Labour Day or May Day commemoration at the National Monument, Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

Kompas.com observations noted that Prabowo entered the Monas area in Jakarta around 08:37 WIB using a white Maung vehicle.

Prabowo was seen standing on the Maung to greet the public, wearing a light brown safari shirt and a matching hat.

While entering the Monas area towards the event stage, Prabowo greeted residents one by one from atop the Maung.

Occasionally, Prabowo also reached out to shake hands with the public.

The attending workers’ masses appeared enthusiastic about Prabowo’s arrival at the location.

Upon disembarking from the vehicle, Prabowo continued his journey to the event stage while again greeting and shaking hands with those around him.

While on stage, Prabowo even danced along to the tune of the Tipe X song.

In addition to Prabowo, several accompanying officials included State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi up to Deputy Chairman of the RI House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

For information, the Labour Day commemoration at Monas was attended by hundreds of thousands of workers from various regions.

The event was also enlivened by entertainment performances and artists, including the band Tipe X.

“There are 11 issues or 11 hopes that the KSPI wants to convey, supported by labour parties in this May Day celebration to the government, both central government and regional governments throughout Indonesia,” said Said in an online press conference on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
