Riders Drive Motorcycles Through Floodwaters in Kemang–Mampang, South Jakarta

Several areas were flooded after overnight rainfall, including Kemang in South Jakarta. Motorists passing through floodwaters did so at their own risk. Detikcom observed on Jalan Duren Bangka, Kemang Timur, South Jakarta, on Sunday, 8 March 2026, at 13:22 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), floodwater measuring about 30 cm high. Many riders were seen turning back their vehicles. However, some motorists bravely pressed on through the flood. Some riders were seen stalling their engines and pushing their motorcycles through the flood. The floods also hit Jalan Mampang Prapatan 16. Residents were seen using the floodwaters to wash motorcycles. Those intending to pass were often urged by locals to turn back. Yet some riders continued through the flood, with depths ranging from about 10 to 50 cm. “Turn back, sir, don’t take the risk; if you push on, your engine will stall,” a local resident told passing motorists.
