Ride-Hailing Presidential Regulation Issued, inDrive Ready to Comply but Reminds Commission Limits

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The online transportation platform inDrive regards the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transportation Drivers as a strategic step to strengthen governance in the digital transportation industry for greater balance and sustainability.

inDrive assesses the regulation as part of collective efforts to create an online transportation ecosystem that is not only competitive but also provides protection and certainty for all involved parties, including drivers, app companies, and service users.

“inDrive is committed to obeying and complying with every regulation issued by the Government,” said Country Manager of inDrive Indonesia, Rio Aristo, in an official statement on Thursday (7/5/2026).

According to the company, this commitment is demonstrated through the implementation of a low commission scheme to keep partner drivers’ earnings competitive.

Currently, inDrive applies a maximum commission limit of 12 percent for all services, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled.

This policy is said to be one of the lowest deduction rates in the national online transportation industry.

According to inDrive, the fare structure in the platform-based digital industry is formed through a balance of interests between passengers, drivers, and app companies to ensure it operates fairly and sustainably.

In addition, the company reminds that overly tight commission restrictions could affect business flexibility in covering operational costs, developing technological innovations, and adapting services to market needs in each region.

“inDrive welcomes every policy step aimed at improving driver welfare and strengthening governance in Indonesia’s online transportation industry,” said Rio.

Rio explained that as a platform that has prioritised fairness principles from the start, including through the low commission policy already implemented.

“We believe that good regulation is one that emerges from a participatory process with space for discussion for all stakeholders to provide substantive and constructive input,” he said.

In line with that spirit, inDrive encourages the process of drafting implementing regulations from this Perpres to be carried out in a participatory and inclusive manner.
