Ride-Hailing Motorcycle Driver Rushed to Hospital After Being Struck by TransJakarta Bus in Central Jakarta
A ride-hailing motorcycle driver named Suherman was left sprawled on the road after being struck by a TransJakarta bus on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. The accident left Suherman with serious injuries.
Head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-directorate at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Ojo Ruslani, explained that the incident occurred on Tuesday morning (24/2/2026) at 08.45 local time on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.
“A Volvo TransJakarta bus with registration number B-7172-PGA, driven by Rizki Dinanto, was travelling from north to south on Jalan Gunung Sahari in the Central Jakarta area,” Ojo told reporters on Tuesday (24/2/2026).
“Upon reaching the scene, near Kimia Gunung Sahari Raya 2H shop, the bus allegedly collided with a Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle with registration number B-4011-BLK, driven by Suherman, who was at the time travelling from the north intending to turn westward on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta,” he continued.
Ojo explained that as a result of the incident, Suherman sustained injuries. He was immediately taken to Hermina Kemayoran Hospital for treatment.
“As a result of the traffic accident, the rider of the Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle with registration number B-4011-BLK sustained injuries and was taken to Hermina Kemayoran Hospital for treatment. A visum et repertum for the injuries has been requested, and the vehicles involved sustained damage,” he added.
TransJakarta’s Response
TransJakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Department Ayu Wardhani said the fleet unit involved was an operator bus with code SAF-083. At the time of the incident, the bus was in operational service carrying passengers.
She explained that based on preliminary information, the bus was proceeding in accordance with a green traffic light. However, contact occurred with the motorcyclist who allegedly turned suddenly in a yellow box area.
TransJakarta conveyed its apologies for the disruption to services caused by the incident. The company is currently coordinating with police to investigate the precise cause of the accident.
“CCTV recordings have also been handed over and we are committed to being cooperative throughout the investigation process,” she said.
TransJakarta also urged all road users to obey traffic signs and prioritise safety in order to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
