Ride-hailing Driver Found Dead with Stab Wounds, Motorcycle and Phone Stolen

An online motorcycle taxi driver named Agus Tedjo was found dead with a stab wound to his neck while resting in the Villa Taman Bandara area, Dadap, Kosambi District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, in the early hours of Sunday (12/3). The victim was discovered covered in blood at a location commonly used by online motorcycle taxi drivers to gather and rest. Despite being found in a critical condition, his life could not be saved due to the stab wound he sustained. In addition to taking the victim’s life, the perpetrator is also suspected of making off with Agus’s motorcycle and mobile phone before fleeing towards the West Jakarta area. The victim’s colleague, Lukman, said Agus was known as a good person and was close with fellow online motorcycle taxi drivers. According to him, the victim was even asked to become the community leader at the hangout spot, but declined because he considered the basecamp unofficial. Lukman also revealed the victim often spent the night at the location, although he occasionally stayed at his house. At the time of the incident, Agus was known to be sleeping on his side. The victim’s body has undergone an autopsy before being buried in his hometown in Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency. Agus leaves behind a wife and two young children. Meanwhile, officers from the Teluknaga Police Sector in coordination with the Tangerang City Metro Police are still hunting for the perpetrator. Police are also reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from around the scene to uncover the identity and whereabouts of the perpetrator.
