Police have arrested a ride-hailing driver named Tatang Komara, also known as Gogo, who is suspected of distributing crystal methamphetamine in the Cimahi area. To evade officers, Gogo hid the methamphetamine inside toy cars. After operating for approximately three months, the suspect was finally apprehended by the police.

Cimahi Police Narcotics Unit Head, Inspector Reyhan Kusuma, stated that the case was uncovered following the arrest of a narcotics abuser in the Cimahi region. “After conducting investigations and further developments, we successfully identified the dealer as Gogo,” said Reyhan on Tuesday (1/10).

Based on the investigation results, police moved to Jalancagak Village, Subang Regency, to arrest Gogo at his home. Upon his arrest, police found 83.28 grams of methamphetamine suspected to be ready for distribution. The illegal goods were hidden inside children’s toy cars.

“The suspect admitted that the methamphetamine was received from an individual referred to as Dulel, who is still under police investigation,” he revealed.

Reyhan explained that part of the methamphetamine was packaged and placed inside the toy cars as a disguise. The toys were then left at specific locations to be picked up by buyers. “In addition to working as a ride-hailing driver, the suspect utilised nighttime hours to distribute the methamphetamine by hiding it inside children’s toys,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Moh. Faruk Rozi stated that the method used by the suspect was quite cunning because the evidence was disguised using children’s toys. Fortunately, the diligence of the officers managed to expose the tactic, preventing the methamphetamine from circulating in the community. “The goods were placed inside toy cars. If we had not been observant, we would not have known that narcotics were tucked inside,” said Faruk Rozi.

From the sales of the methamphetamine, Gogo is estimated to have earned profits of approximately Rp3 million to Rp5 million if all the goods had been successfully sold. For his actions, the suspect now faces a prison sentence of a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years.
