Jakarta – The Hari Raya Bonus (BHR) will be provided for the second time during the Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr period this year. Agung Yudha, Executive Director of Modantara (Association for Digital Mobility and Delivery Applications of Indonesia), conveyed several key messages regarding the matter.

One primary request is for the government to be more prudent and open a broad dialogue in formulating BHR policies for ride-hailing drivers and digital delivery couriers in Indonesia.

“First, learning from last year, our expectation from Modantara for this year is that the government can be more prudent and open the widest possible space for dialogue in formulating policies related to the Hari Raya bonus for driver partners in the mobility and digital delivery sectors in Indonesia whilst considering the different economic capacities of companies,” Agung said during a media briefing on Friday, 27 February 2026.

The second point concerns partner welfare. The applications platforms have prepared THR programmes based on schemes aligned with their respective company capacities and industry sustainability.

“Second, partner welfare, particularly driver partners, is indeed one of the main concerns of companies and platforms. And because of that, companies in the digital delivery and mobility sectors have voluntarily prepared THR programmes with schemes tailored to each company’s capacity whilst still considering industry sustainability,” he explained.

He also stated that the THR is voluntary in nature, meaning it is undertaken as a gesture of goodwill from companies towards their partners.

“The Hari Raya bonus is voluntary in nature, and therefore the provision of the Hari Raya bonus or other programmes related to significant benefits carried out by companies and platforms is actually part of the goodwill efforts undertaken by these companies and platforms to help improve the welfare of their partners,” Agung said.

When contacted previously, Labour Minister Yassierli said discussions had been held with relevant parties regarding the 2026 THR. He described the results as very positive.

However, confirmation of the THR still requires further steps. He said a special Ministerial Circular on the matter will be issued.

“Of course, and we certainly hope for better outcomes. Not yet, we will announce it later, alongside the THR announcements and the situation,” he said.
