JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives Abdul Hadi has urged ride-hailing app operators (ojol) and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to comply with Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers.

One of the provisions in Perpres 27/2026 is the platform fee limited to 8 percent, with the remaining 92 percent going to ojol drivers.

“Our hope is that the Ministry of Transportation must oversee this seriously. App operators are obliged to comply with this Presidential Regulation. We will continue to monitor so that this pro-people regulation from the President is truly felt on the roads, not just on paper,” Hadi said in his statement, quoted on Monday (4/5/2026).

According to him, the rule limiting platform fees to 8 percent demonstrates the government’s support for driver partners.

“This is concrete evidence that the Government is present to ensure that drivers’ burdens are no longer heavy, so they can earn much better income to support their families,” Hadi said.

In addition, he also appreciated the provision of health and accident insurance for ojol driver partners.

“Their work on the highways is very risky, and this guarantee provides peace of mind for them while earning a living. This is a very good step forward for strengthening our economic foundation,” Hadi said.

“Brothers and sisters, we have also regulated this; I have signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers,” said Prabowo from the podium during the International Labour Day celebration 2026 at Monas field, Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

Prabowo emphasised that the rights of ojol workers must be fulfilled by the companies employing them.

Regarding platform fees for ojol drivers, the Perpres also regulates it.

“Also, earlier the income split was 80 percent for drivers, now it becomes a minimum of 92 percent for drivers,” said Prabowo.
