Rico Waas Promotes Medan as an Inclusive City to Indian Investors
North Sumatra - Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas attended a strategic business meeting titled India–Indonesia Business Promotion. The event took place at the Arya Duta Hotel in Medan and involved the Consulate General of India in Medan. Indian Consul General Ravi Shanker Goel also attended the forum, which served as a platform to build communication. Rico Waas stated that Medan is a global and inclusive city, as reflected in its openness to cooperation. He regarded India as a strategic partner, not only in trade but also in technology and knowledge development. Rico Waas described India as a nation with a strong civilisation, whose advancements in various sectors open up cooperation opportunities. During the occasion, he outlined the grand vision of “Medan for All”, which guides the city’s development. This vision is translated into various missions, including cultural, superior, energetic, orderly and safe, humane, and friendly ones. Rico Waas emphasised that this concept forms the foundation of development, aiming to realise an inclusive and sustainable city. The offered sectors include health, infrastructure, and the creative economy, presenting opportunities for investors. Rico Waas invited investors to explore cooperation, hoping that collaboration would bring mutual benefits. The meeting marks an initial step to strengthen relations while opening broader investment opportunities in Medan City.
