Richard Lee's Wife Questioned in Case Involving Her Husband

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Reni Efendi, the wife of cosmetic doctor Richard Lee, was questioned by Metro Jaya Police investigators in connection with the case ensnaring her husband on Friday (27/3/2026). The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that Reni was examined starting at 10:00 WIB. “Today, additional witness examination of DRL’s wife is ongoing,” Budi told Kompas.com when confirmed on Friday. Reni was first examined by investigators on 16 June 2025. Budi explained that this second examination aims to delve deeper into the witness’s statements to supplement previous ones. Subsequently, the results of this examination will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office. Richard has been designated as a suspect in the alleged consumer protection violation case involving cosmetic products and services. He was reported by cosmetic doctor Samira, known as Doctor Detective, to Metro Jaya Police. The report is registered as LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT Metro Jaya Police. Furthermore, under Article 62 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph 1 and/or Article 9 paragraph 1 of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, with a maximum prison sentence of five years and a maximum fine of Rp 2 billion. Conversely, Samira had previously been named a suspect in a defamation case filed by Richard Lee at South Jakarta Police on 12 December 2025. In developments, Richard was detained after failing to report as required and was caught doing a live broadcast on TikTok.
