Richard Lee's P-21 Case File Handed Over to Banten High Prosecutor's Office
Jakarta, Kompas.com – The Metro Jaya Regional Police have received information confirming the completeness of the investigation file in a consumer protection violation case involving a doctor who is also the owner of a beauty clinic, Richard Lee.
“The file has been declared complete (P-21) today by the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office,” said the Head of the Public Information and Community Development Subdivision, Bidhumas, Metro Jaya Regional Police, Comr. Andaru Rahutomo, at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, on Friday, 22 May 2026.
With that, investigators are planning to hand over the evidential materials to the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office, along with the transfer of Richard’s custody. Andaru said he would announce again after investigators set a schedule for the official handover.
Richard has been named a suspect in a case of consumer protection violations relating to beauty products and services.
The report is registered as LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT, Metro Jaya Police.
He faces a maximum prison term of 12 years or up to Rp5 billion in penalties.
In addition, under Article 62(1) in conjunction with Article 8(1) and/or Article 9(1) of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, the penalties include a maximum prison term of 5 years and fines of up to Rp2 billion.
In an update, Richard was detained after he failed to comply with mandatory reporting and was found conducting a live broadcast on TikTok.
