Richard Lee's Detention Extended by 40 Days
Police have revealed developments in the case of alleged consumer protection violations as well as beauty products and treatments that implicate doctor Richard Lee as a suspect. The detention of Richard Lee has been extended by 40 days. “For Mr DRL, there is an extension of detention carried out by investigators for the next 40 days. Effective from 26 March 2026 to 5 May 2026,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Budi stated that the case file has also been handed over to the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) on Tuesday (31/3). If the file is deemed complete, it will proceed to the second stage handover, namely the suspect and evidence. “We are still waiting regarding that case file whether it has been declared complete or still needs fulfilment. Therefore, investigators have taken the step to extend the detention by 40 days ahead,” he said. The case ensnaring Richard Lee originated from a report by a doctor detective (doktif) on 2 December 2024 with number LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT Metro Jaya Police. Richard Lee was then designated as a suspect on 15 December last year. Metro Jaya Police subsequently detained doctor Richard Lee (DRL) because he was deemed to be obstructing the investigation related to the alleged consumer protection violation case as well as beauty products and treatments. “The suspect DRL was detained at 21.50 WIB in the Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in his statement, Friday (6/3/2026).
