Richard Lee fails to attend two mandatory police reporting sessions before detention
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Dr. Richard Lee, a physician and owner of a beauty clinic, skipped two mandatory police reporting obligations before his arrest. He is a suspect in a case of violation of consumer protection related to his cosmetic products. ‘The suspect also failed to report for the obligation on Monday, 23 February 2026 and Thursday, 5 March 2026 without a clear reason,’ said Public Relations Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, contacted by Kompas.com on Friday, 6 March 2026. Budi said Richard also failed to appear for a further examination on 3 March without a clear reason. However, Richard was caught livestreaming on his TikTok account. ‘The suspect did not attend the additional examination without giving a clear explanation, and was found to be livestreaming on TikTok,’ explained Budi. Therefore, after completing the examination on Friday afternoon, Richard was detained because he was considered to have obstructed the investigation. ‘The suspect DRL was detained at 21:50 at the Metro Jaya Police detention house,’ said Budi. Before detention, Richard was confirmed to be in good health and did not carry any personal belongings. Richard was named a suspect in the case of violation of consumer protection laws relating to beauty products and services. He was reported to be a beauty doctor, Samira or known as Doctor Detective by the Metro Jaya Police. The report is registered LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT Polda Metro Jaya.
