Richard Lee Cannot Sell on TikTok Live Anymore

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A doctor and owner of a beauty clinic, Richard Lee, was detained by investigators from the Metro Jaya Regional Police after being questioned as a suspect in a case of alleged consumer-protection violations related to beauty products.

Detention followed police assessments that Richard was not cooperative during the investigation process. Previously, he had reportedly failed to attend several summons. Moreover, police found that Richard had conducted a live broadcast on social media while he was supposed to be attending an examination.

Richard Lee underwent questioning on Friday (6 March 2026). After the examination concluded, investigators immediately detained him.

“Regarding the suspect DRL, detention was carried out at 21:50 WIB in the Metro Jaya Police detention facility,” said Budi.

Before detention, Richard underwent the examination for around four hours, from 13:00 to 17:00 WIB. During the examination, investigators posed 29 questions to the suspect.

During the examination, Richard also underwent a medical check by a team from the Medical and Health Division (Biddokes) of the Metro Jaya Police.

Budi explained that previously investigators did not detain Richard Lee immediately because he was deemed cooperative. However, the investigators’ stance changed after Richard failed to respond to summons several times.

According to Budi, Richard was not present for examinations on 23 February and 5 March 2026 without providing a clear reason.

“The suspect also failed to report for duty on Monday, 23 February 2026 and Thursday, 5 March 2026 without a clear reason,” Budi said.

In addition, Richard was not present when called again for additional examinations on 3 March.
